New Blogger Book Challenge!

I got this interesting idea for a new Blogger Book Challenge, the other night. I'm still working out the details, but basically, this is what it'll be about....

You will choose 3-5 books, one per Genre (see below), and you will read those between (possibly -- this is the part I'm still working on) August - December 2007.

For example:

  1. CHRISTIAN ROMANCE: "Happily Ever After" by Susan May Warren

  2. CHRISTIAN LIVING: "How to Be Good Without Really Trying" by Mike Flynn

  3. CHRISTIAN CHICK-LIT: "With This Ring, I'm Confused" by Kristin Billerbeck

  4. CHRISTIAN FANTASY/SCI-FI: "Arena" by Karen Hancock

  5. CHRISTIAN CLASSIC: "Orthodoxy" by G.K. Chesterton (author correct?)

There are a ton of Genres you could choose from... Here's a quick list (there may be others I'm not thinking of...):

  • Christian Living

  • Romance

  • Fantasy

  • Science Fiction

  • Chick Lit

  • Mystery/Suspense

  • Classic

  • Historical

  • Humor

  • Inspirational

I have heard of soooo many Blogger Book Challenges "out there", and yet, there don't seem any that are specifically for "Christians". ;o) So, here we are... a challenge all our own! ;o)

Leave me a comment to let me know if you're interested, and I'll put up a Mr.Linky once I decide on the dates for this challenge *officially*. ;o)

Thanks!

There is a Christian Fiction Challenge (kinda) but it's a monthly thing. This sounds interesting. You can bet I'll sign up for it. ;-) I have lots of books in these categories.

I've posted this pending challenge on A Novel Challenge Blog (http://novelchallenges.blogspot.com/)
I have a feeling this one will be popular :)

anyway to get out of the genre flipping? I really can't stand Christian Fiction almost in it's entirity (there are a few authors I like, but I've read all their works) I can read Christian living and theological works all day, though.

I'll be joining this one. I do a LOT of book reviews for Christian books so it'll be fun!!!

For Dana, there are several nonfiction genres she's listed and I bet you could come up with five different NF genres from Christian publishing houses.

You don't have to go by just the genres I've listed here... you're free to go hunting for others that I probably forgot / didn't think of. ;o)

I'm so glad ya'll are interested in this challenge! And, I do think I'm going to stick with these dates... I can't make it any sooner! :o)
